Plant-Based Synthesis of Metal Nanoparticles for Managing Agroecosystem
摘要
The plant-mediated synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) is a simple, economical, environment-friendly, easily scalable, time-efficient, low-cost, low-temperature, and safe approach for preparing metal-based nanoparticles. Various plant parts, such as bark, flowers, leaves, and roots are commonly used in this process. These NPs have been successfully utilized for improved seed germination, shoot and root growth, shoot and root biomass, and shoot branching in plants. High levels of chlorophyll, protein, reducing sugar, phenols, etc. have also been observed in plants treated with these NPs. In addition, they have been found effective as pesticides and are able to tackle many fungal, bacterial, and pest-borne infections. Furthermore, they have shown promise in mitigating the adverse effects of environmental stressors such as drought and salinity.
