Navigating Complex Texts with Semantic Extraction and Condensing
摘要
In India, dealing with legal documents can be quite a chaotic affair, often filled with complexity and disorder. The existing records within the Indian judiciary are no exception to this rule (Parikh, V, Mathur, V, Mehta, P, Mittal, N, Majumder: Lawsum: A weakly-supervised approach for Indian legal document summarization, P. (2021)). Compounding the issue is the absence of a readily available dataset that provides concise summaries of these legal documents. To tackle these challenges head-on, a comprehensive method is proposed to navigate through these intricate texts. The approach involves using semantic extraction techniques coupled with a condensed summarization method specifically tailored for legal documents. The goal is simple: to bring order to the disorderly nature of Indian legal records and create a structured resource that can benefit legal professionals and researchers alike. The method doesn't aim to overhaul the system; instead, it seeks to extract and preserve the essential semantic elements from these legal documents. The idea is to analyze legal texts more efficiently by focusing on what truly matters. Ultimately, the strive is to provide a practical solution for those who grapple with the complexities of Indian legal documentation.
