The circular economy (CE), focusing on resource reuse and waste reduction, is becoming increasingly important in the construction industry (CI) for sustainable development. A literature review identified key drivers for adopting CE practices, including resource optimization, reduction of environmental impacts, and enhanced energy efficiency. However, a significant research gap exists in comprehensively understanding these drivers and quantifying the economic benefits of CE practices in construction. The study also highlighted the economic benefits, such as reduced material costs and enhanced value from recycling and reuse. These findings suggest that embracing CE principles leads to environmental and economic advantages in the CI. The shift not only aligns with environmental protection goals but also promotes sustainable economic growth, indicating a crucial need for strategic change in construction practices for long-term sustainability.

摘要
