The construction industry generates a significant amount of waste, contributing to rising carbon emissions and impacting global temperatures. To address this challenge, many construction industries worldwide are exploring circular economy principles as a way to reduce waste. This research investigates how circular economy principles can be implemented. The study focuses on key stakeholders within the Thai construction industry, including designers, manufacturers, and contractors. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with these stakeholders to gain insights into their perspectives. The research identified three key circular economy-related practices along with policy considerations for material management, the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, and the challenges, barriers, and drivers for circular economy implementation. The interviews revealed that operational costs associated with waste management and potential material scarcity are highlighted as two key material management issues. A lack of awareness and knowledge of circular economy principles is a major barrier to successful implementation in the Thai construction industry.
