An Interview with Bettina Freimann about “Clear River—Calm Sea”

The conversation with curator Bettina Freimann discusses the exhibition Clear River—Calm Sea, (22 November–11 December 2022) that she conceived as part of the China Time week at Hauptkirche St. Katharinen in Hamburg, Germany. She explains her motivation to show artworks from Sinophone worlds that all relate to ecological issues and entail planetary perspectives. The discussion also enlightens the transcultural challenges of installing the show in a former Christian church and mediating it to non-Chinese audiences.
