Point zero of what have now in the era of “smart everything” world vs. genuine advancement creates a sort of discomfort in mind. This challenges us to re-evaluate what it means to be genuinely advanced from a philosophical standpoint. Is it our urban skylines’ sophistication and complexity, our technological expertise, or the growth of material wealth? Alternatively, is it the nature of our relationships—with nature, with our communities, and with each other? The real test of progress is found in fostering empathy, fairness, and accountability.
