Accounting for Complexity: Liberal Studies and Environmental Peacebuilding
摘要
Liberal studies, a multidisciplinary academic field spanning the arts, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences, offers underutilized tools for reconciling competing ideologies, practices, and systems. This précis highlights how pluralist approaches enrich conceptual and evaluative frameworks, with special attention to context-specific criteria for assessing initiatives and generating lessons learned in environmental peacebuilding. Ultimately, liberal studies illuminates the theoretical foundations and practice of environmental peacebuilding and expands its capacity to foster durable, ecologically sound, and culturally attuned peace.
