Attention Analysis of Flight Controllers Based on Eye Tracking

Flight command tasks involve high information density, rapid state changes, and continuous monitoring demands. To describe flight controllers’ visual attention under real working conditions, this study establishes an eye-tracking-based attention analysis framework covering attention distribution, attention organization, and attention stability. Eye movement data from controllers with 1–2 years and more than five years of experience were analyzed using area-of-interest (AOI) dwell proportion, switch rate, average visit duration, gaze paths, heat maps, and cross-trial fluctuation. The results show that experienced controllers allocate more attention to task-relevant AOIs, maintain a broader scanning pattern, and show slightly more stable attention. Although group differences were not statistically significant, the findings indicate that eye tracking can provide useful process-level evidence for attention diagnosis and training feedback in flight command tasks.
