摘要

Innovative technologies are needed for long-distance, high-capacity, low-latency data transmission due to the growing data needs of 5G networks. Radio over fiber (RoF) systems’ high bandwidth capacity, minimal attenuation loss, and robust resistance to RF interference make them perfect for 5G networks. Therefore, in this work, we design, build, and demonstrate a system using the 64-channel Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) Radio over Fiber (RoF) technology and the Optisystem software. A 64 × 50 Gbps data transmission system is a type of higher speed transmission system designed for Tera bit per second (Tbps) communication. The eye diagram’s characteristics, the Q-factor, the Min Bit Error Rate (BER), and bitrates of up to 50 Gbps and 100 km would serve as the basis for the performance study. Results from the analysis point to a system with better performance at 3.2 Tbps data rate transmission.
