摘要

The swift advancement of healthcare technologies has facilitated enhanced diagnostics and remote patient monitoring; yet, the provision of timely and precise medical care continues to be problematic in underserved areas owing to restricted access to specialists. This study tackles the issue by creating a cost-efficient Internet of Things (IoT)-based infrastructure for the real-time transmission of medical imaging data, facilitating remote diagnosis and monitoring. The proposed system amalgamates several imaging modalities, such as MRI, ultrasonography, and CT scanners, with Raspberry Pi edge nodes that execute local processing and secure communication using a lightweight FTP protocol with token-based authentication. A Node.js RTMP server enables real-time video streaming, while a centralized dashboard with ThingsBoard.io visualizes imaging and IoT sensor data. The framework includes a specialized data governance workflow that addresses encryption, authentication, logging, and compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27799 requirements to assure data security and regulatory conformity. The system was assessed via prototype deployment, evaluating latency, throughput, dependability, and remote accessibility. The results indicate rapid, high-quality access to medical pictures, facilitating expedited clinical decision-making and enhanced diagnostic precision. This adaptable and mobile architecture improves healthcare delivery in resource-limited environments and establishes a basis for the future incorporation of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, yielding substantial practical and societal benefits by broadening access to high-quality remote medical services.
