Circular-Core PCF Employing Different Materials of Nano-rods for Sensing Enhancement
摘要
Photonic crystal optical fibers (PCOFs) are emerged as a peculiar and potential medium nowadays for sensing and receiving ample consideration due to their flexibility, multiple designs such as cladding holes and core variations, their respective positions, guiding mechanism and geometric versatility etc. The comprehensive literature revealed that most of the PCFs are investigated with the silica material in the background but nano-particles or rods integrated with the PCFs bear large potential in the development of ingenious optical devices. New applications, primarily in the field of sensing, are made possible by the union of PCFs with ideal nano-rods. In this research, a circular PCF (C-PCF) with silica backdrop and high index nano-rods imbibed has been presented. The interaction between the optical field and the analyte to be sensed is a crucial aspect of the sensing process. The attenuation coefficient (low) exhibited by the presented fiber is 10–6 dB/m and less than 0.0002 dB/m confinement loss. The value of most suitable effective area is found out to be 4.33 µm2in comparison to the all other investigated materials. The presented nano-rods can gain distinctive sensing qualities for diverse applications such as optical-sensor systems, bio-medical optics and etc.
