Comparative Analysis of Enhanced Power Yield Through Photovoltaic System Under Partial Shading Situations by Simulations and Experimental Setup
摘要
The solar photovoltaic technique to extract the solar energy is gaining importance day by day. The prime reason being the free and ubiquitous availability of the primary source of light which is ‘Sun’. The power extracted from the photovoltaic arrays (PVAs) is depleted to a larger extent owing to several natural factors which is a serious issue. One of the most common causes is partial shading situation (PSS) which comes into picture primarily due to the dust which settles on the panels, moving clouds, bird droppings, etc. The geographical location and the topographical conditions also affect the power yield from the PVA systems. Thus, it is paramount to predict and fix the adverse effects of the environmental factors such as PSSs that may hinder the performance of the solar energy systems, in order to achieve the maximum output. A 4 × 4 Jigsaw SuDoKu (JSSDK) scheme is introduced in this article and the performance is studied by experiments through lab prototype under various PSS. The experimental results when compared to the theoretical ones proved that the JSSDK topology reduced the mismatch power losses and produced better performance with enhanced power output under different PSSs.
