Calculation for Scour at Piers and Abutments and Embedded Depth of Foundation

8.1.1 The scour of bridge piers and abutments shall include scour due to riverbed evolution, general scour and local scour. Calculation of pier and abutment scour shall be provided for the design basis to determine the embedded depth of foundation.
