Effects of Admixtures on the Performance of EMR-Based Grouting Materials

摘要

In practical grouting engineering, grouting materials must possess both adequate flowability and sufficient mechanical strength, as these properties are crucial for the smooth implementation of the project and the assurance of final quality. Typically, there exists a trade-off between the mechanical properties and flowability of grouting materials; that is, as flowability increases, mechanical performance tends to decrease [1]. This inverse relationship creates a conflict when trying to meet the performance requirements for engineering applications. Given this situation, to better balance these two performance demands and achieve reasonably satisfactory levels in both for practical engineering, it is often necessary to incorporate a small amount of chemical admixtures into the grouting materials. By leveraging the unique properties and mechanisms of these admixtures, the characteristics of the grout can be modified, thereby mitigating the conflict between the two performance requirements and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the grouting project [2].
