Multi-authority Attribute-Based Anonymous Credentials with Public Traceability and Revocation

Attribute-based anonymous credentials (ABCs) enable users to prove possession of attributes to a verifier using credentials issued by trusted authorities in a privacy-preserving manner. However, while the anonymity of ABCs safeguards user privacy, it may also lead to credential abuse in applications where each credential can only be presented a bounded number of times, necessitating the deployment of traceability and revocation. Moreover, real-world applications often involve a multi-authority setting, where users own multiple credentials issued by different issuers. To our knowledge, no existing multi-authority ABC supports public traceability and revocation. In light of the circumstance, we propose a multi-authority ABC system with public traceability and revocation, where each credential can be anonymously used in an allowed number of presentations. Additionally, we provide a rigorous security proof to demonstrate the security of our multi-authority ABC scheme. Performance evaluation further confirms the practicality of our proposed construction.
