ADRRN: Strengthening Asian NGOs Through Regional Networks and Capacity-Building

Through the lens of regional solidarity and local innovation, ADRRN emerges as a distinctive actor reshaping disaster governance across Asia. Its lightweight structure, anchored in thematic Hubs, enables decentralized coordination, peer learning, and the amplification of grassroots knowledge. Rather than replicating top-down models, ADRRN fosters trust-based collaboration, supports locally defined capacity-building, and builds legitimacy through moral capital and embedded practice. From field-level experimentation to global policy engagement, the network demonstrates how southern-led alliances can produce not only effective responses, but also new norms for equitable and locally grounded humanitarian action.
