Monetizing ESG Trust: How Credible Sustainability Disclosure Accelerates Green Fintech Adoption in Next-11 Emerging Economies
摘要
This chapter explores how credible ESG disclosure acts as a trust mechanism that can be monetized, speeding up the use of green fintech and digital carbon solutions in the Next-11 emerging economies. It argues that reliable sustainability information is more than just a report; it’s a strategic asset that drives financial transformation through technology, even amid institutional differences. Drawing on signaling theory, institutional theory, and ideas on organizational technology adoption, the chapter presents a framework in which ESG credibility reduces information gaps and stakeholder trust serves as a key transmission mechanism. The analysis includes thematic, case-based insights from all eleven countries. Special focus is given to digital carbon assets, which, due to their fungibility and measurement challenges, serve as a critical test for digitally mediated trust. The chapter shows that the success of green fintech tools such as AI-based ESG analytics, blockchain finance, and carbon tracking relies heavily on the credibility, consistency, and verifiability of ESG data. It models monetization pathways like lower capital costs, operational efficiencies, and new ESG-related revenue streams, providing practical guidance for banks, regulators, and policymakers aiming to link sustainability goals with financial value.
