摘要
This chapter covers two state-of-the-art corpus analysis tools designed to analyse user’s own corpus data: AntConc by Laurence Anthony and #LancsBox X by Vaclav Brezina and William Platt. Section 4.2 covers AntConc (version 4.2.0), detailing its functionalities and how it can be used for various types of linguistic analysis with functions including the KWIC viewer, plot, cluster search, N-grams finder, etc. Visual aids and screenshots are included for users to follow step-by-step, accompanied by ideas and example uses of each function for teaching activities. Section 4.3 introduces #LancsBox X as a versatile software package that supports various types of corpus searches and its unique feature of providing graphic representations of collocation networks, allowing users to examine language data through enhanced visualisation. Hands-on search exercises involving #LancsBox X will be included at the end of the section.
