Who Is Seeking Quick Fixes During the Pandemic?
摘要
The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has damaged the mature production, living and trading systems that countries around the world rely on so much, not only far exceeding the consequences of most previous "black swan" events, but also a costly and long-term test of human collective intelligence, scientific and technological progress, and the resilience or ability of the economic system to absorb losses. The gap in global trade and growth, created by the pandemic, though enormous, was not necessarily a leading factor to the Great Depression. Further, whether the global economy can avoid a new recession depends on the ability of the USA and European countries to act.
