How Can the Global Economy Move toward Steady Growth?

In its 2019 World Economic Outlook, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) expressed concerns about global economic growth for that year, forecasting a decline in the global economic growth rate to 3.5%, which was 0.2 percentage points lower than the previous World Economic Outlook forecast. According to the IMF, global growth faced downside risks, with several evident uncertainties negatively impacting global economic expansion. In response, the IMF recommended that countries strengthen cooperation to resolve differences, implement measures to boost potential output growth, enhance inclusivity, and strengthen fiscal and financial buffers, particularly in an environment of heavy debt burdens and tightening financial conditions.
