Right-Wing Parties across Europe: So, What it Is all about?
摘要
The rise of right-wing parties across Europe has emerged to be one of the most significant transformations in contemporary European politics. Over the past two decades, these parties have moved from the political margins to the mainstream, reshaping party systems, public discourse, and democratic norms across Europe. This chapter summarises the increasing debates over how to conceptualise the right-wing parties; what are the socio-cultural and economic drivers for the rise of these parties; are these drivers similar across the sub-regions of Europe; what has been the impact of these parties on their respective political systems and on the European Union; and more critically, how does the rise of right-wing parties fit into the emerging debates on illiberal democracy?
