Considerations About Authenticity and Modernity in Historic Urban Landscapes from an African Perspective: Decentring and Refashioning Heritage for an African Context
摘要
Drawing on the experience of the MoHoA (Modern Heritage of Africa/in the Anthropocene) initiative and with reference to the UNESCO 2011 Recommendation on the Historic Urban Landscape, this chapter examines the concepts of authenticity and modernity as applied to heritage in African Historic Urban Landscapes. It calls for the decentring and refashioning of heritage in order to redefine and reclaim modernity and authenticity in urban contexts from an African perspective.
