Research on the Die Structure Development of a Mounting Cover

This paper focuses on improving the processing route of a mounting cover, transforming the original manufacturing process from drawing and wire cutting to a one-set mold forming process. To this end, CAE tools are introduced in the development of the stamping plan to ensure the smooth progress of mold production and reduce trial-and-error costs. A key structural feature of this mold is the double-sided piercing at the bottom of the product; the fine blanking process is adopted to guarantee the precision and flatness of the bottom bridge. After the improvement, production efficiency is increased by 4 times, the number of operators is reduced by 8, and production cost is decreased by 80%.
