The Transient Response Mechanism and Application of Strain Gauges under Laser Excitation

The demand for the development of large-scale load-bearing structures within the aerospace industry has been experiencing continuous and significant growth. At present, the conventional methodology for networking the massive arrays of strain gauges and data channels associated with these large structures relies predominantly on manual coding coupled with manual verification. The inherent inefficiency of this traditional approach renders it inadequate for satisfying the stringent requirements of contemporary, intensive structural assessment and validation procedures. In this paper, the transient response characteristics of strain gauge under laser excitation are studied by simulation, and the surrogate model of laser parameters to strain gauge response is constructed. Finally, a fast correlation method based on laser excitation-strain response is proposed. Ultimately, the method is verified by shell test.
