Design and Simulation of Stem Separation Device Based on CFD-DEM Coupling
摘要
During cigarette production, tobacco shreds are often wasted when stems are removed. To reduce shred loss and stem contamination, this study uses CFD–DEM simulation with realistic particle models in FLUENT–EDEM. The negative-pressure separation process in a recovery device was analyzed under different conditions. Results show that the optimal negative pressure is −12,000 Pa, achieving a stem escape rate of 16.20%, shred escape rate of 10.67%, and 3.68% shred content in stems. This provides a theoretical basis for optimizing tobacco shred recovery devices.
