Experimental Study on Drying of Water - Based Ink Based on Inkjet Printing

摘要

The drying system is crucial for digital inkjet printing, directly affecting production efficiency and print quality. Current water-based ink drying processes rely heavily on empirical methods, lacking standardized data, leading to high energy consumption and inefficiency. This study examines temperature (40–80 °C) and air velocity (3–12 m/s) effects on ink drying using Prodigy paper and Yingkejie black ink in an M440C printer oven. Density variation, abrasion resistance, and friction coefficients were measured.Experimental results demonstrate that the optimal drying parameters range between 60–70 °C with air velocities of 7–10 m/s. Specifically, the highest abrasion resistance was achieved at 70 °C and 10 m/s, while the lowest kinetic friction coefficient was observed at 60 °C and 7 m/s, indicating stable drying performance. This study provides scientifically validated initial drying parameters for industrial applications, effectively reducing trial-and-error costs, while contributing fundamental data for intelligent control of inkjet printing drying processes.
