Research on Braking Model of Train Control On-Board Equipment of Heavy-Haul Railway Based on Virtual Coupling Technology

摘要

In response to the urgent demand for improving heavy-haul railway transportation efficiency in China, the solution of applying virtual coupling technology (VCT) is proposed. The virtual coupling and its global development status are introduced, focusing on the study of generic safety braking model. A leading train safety braking model, an immediately preceding train optimal braking model and a following train safety braking model were established. A train control equipment of heavy-haul railway based on the VCL is developed and multi-train tracking tests were carried out in laboratory environments. Test results demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of the safety braking model. Additionally, the train control equipment of heavy-haul railway based on the VCL can significantly shorten the tracking interval distance and enhance heavy-haul railway transportation efficiency.
