Camels and the Concept of One Health
摘要
This chapter outlines the evolution of the One Health concept from early veterinary approaches to a modern, integrated framework linking human, animal, and ecosystem health. It highlights key principles such as transdisciplinarity and sustainability. Additionally, it examines their relevance to camels in the context of changing farming systems, disease dynamics, and zoonotic risks, particularly MERS-CoV. The chapter emphasises the need for holistic research, improved management, and sustainable development within camel production systems.
