Polymerization Techniques
摘要
Polymers are synthesized by adding one monomer to the other in a systematic manner. The process of adding up the monomers is of various types leading to several variations in structure, molecular weight, branching and molecular weight distribution. Among the various methods of polymerizations, following are the important ones, radical polymerization, suspension polymerization, interfacial polymerization, emulsion polymerization, solution polymerization etc. In this chapter different types of homopolymers and copolymers are synthesized by the above-mentioned methods. Both thermoplastics and elastomers synthesis techniques are discussed in this section.
