Development of Rapid Shut-in Tool for Overflow during Liner Running Operation

摘要

Well control safety is the top priority in the safety work of oil and gas exploration and development. The traditional tailpipe overflow shut-off operation mode based on “blowout prevention single pipe/column (tailpipe pipe buckle joint) and wellhead tailpipe rush assembly connection” has disadvantages such as inconvenient operation and long operation cycle, and cannot meet the well control safety requirements under the complex working conditions of deep well oil and gas development. To address these issues, a rapid shut-off tool for 5 1/2 “tailpipe overflow was designed and developed. The quick connection between a single blowout preventer and the wellhead tailpipe was achieved through a mechanical rapid interlocking connection method. Additionally, a mechanical limit safety auxiliary mechanism for casing couplings and a sealing rubber bowl structure were designed to enable the quick assembly, reliable suspension and internal sealing of the tool. This paper focuses on the structure, working principle, technical parameters and field/field test results of the device. The test results show that the device is well-structured and reliable in performance, and can increase the overflow closure efficiency of the lower tailpipe operation by more than 60%.
