Current Status and Intelligent Development Trends of Measurement-While-Drilling (MWD) Data Transmission Technologies
摘要
As oil and gas exploration extends into deeper and more complex geological formations, downhole data transmission plays a critical role in ensuring drilling safety and efficiency. Traditional methods (e.g., mud pulse, electromagnetic wave, acoustic, and wired transmission) are constrained by low transmission rates, weak signal stability, and single-mode communication under challenging conditions like deep wells and extended-reach wells. To address these issues, emerging trends in MWD data transmission are focusing on multi-channel integration, intelligent optimization, high-bandwidth modulation, and system level coordination. This paper systematically reviews the current state and key challenges of downhole data transmission technologies and outlines future development directions from the perspective of intelligent enhancement.
