Research on the Layout of Factory Well Groups and Optimization of Drilling Parameters in ITT Oilfield in Ecuador
摘要
The drilling and completion project in the ITT oil field in Ecuador is the largest overseas integrated drilling and completion project undertaken by Chuanqing Company in the South American market to date. Enhancing drilling efficiency in this oil field is crucial for boosting the company's influence in the overseas oil and gas service market. Utilizing “factory-style” drilling in the ITT oil field involves the use of a substantial amount of standardized equipment or services and conducting drilling and completion operations in the block in a mode similar to production or assembly line operations. This approach maximizes the advantages of systematization, integration, process-oriented operations, mass production, standardization, and automation, allowing for efficient, low-cost, and highly beneficial construction operations. Optimizing the layout of large well groups, well sequence development, wellbore structure, well trajectory, and drilling parameters can significantly reduce land acquisition area and save time and costs associated with drilling rig relocation and installation. Conducting “batch drilling” operations with multiple drilling rigs simultaneously on the same well site, and reusing drilling fluids from different wells and drilling stages, not only improves operational efficiency and reduces costs but also facilitates construction and management. This approach is suitable for the development of unconventional oil and gas resources such as tight oil and gas and shale oil and gas with low permeability and low quality.
