Equality and Justice in Sports: Breaking Barriers to Advance Inclusion
摘要
This chapter focuses on the importance of justice and equality in sports. The highlight of the chapter is historical developments, challenges faced, and, at the end, strategies that can foster inclusivity. Drawing on global case studies, intersectionality theory, and athlete activism, it argues that equality and justice are central to the legitimacy of sports institutions. The discussion is also on racism, sexism, ableism, and LGBTQ+ exclusion, while studying existing policies, media dynamics, and governance reforms. At the end, recommendations for implementing fairness and inclusivity in sports globally are stated.
