Research on Carbon Footprint Accounting Methods for Offshore Jacket Structures

摘要

This study investigates carbon footprint accounting for jacket structures in offshore oil engineering to support environmental management and sustainable development in the industry. It elaborates on the theoretical foundations and methodologies, including the determination of functional units and system boundaries, as well as carbon footprint accounting processes and computational formulas across different lifecycle stages, offering practical guidance for implementation. Key limitations of current methods are identified, such as data accessibility challenges, ambiguous boundary definitions, and insufficient standardization. To address these issues, optimization strategies are proposed: enhancing data management and sharing mechanisms, clarifying accounting boundaries, and promoting standardized methodologies to improve accuracy and effectiveness. A lifecycle carbon footprint accounting framework is established for jacket structures, integrating phase-specific formulation methods and boundary optimization strategies. This framework fills a critical gap in carbon quantification methodologies for offshore engineering and provides theoretical support for global standardization of carbon footprint accounting and the adoption of low-carbon technologies. The findings contribute to advancing sustainable practices in offshore oil engineering while aligning with international efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
