Potential Analysis of Deep Coal-Rock Gas in Bowen Basin—Case Study of One Deep CBM Well in Bowen Basin
摘要
The Permian-Triassic Bowen Basin is located on the eastern coast of Australia in New South Wales and Queensland. This basin is a backarc foreland basin and a major rich coal seam basin in Australia. Previous CBM development was mainly concentrated in the shallow Blackwater coal seam group within 1000 m of this basin. In recent years, influenced and inspired by the development of deep coal-rock gas in China, Bowen Basin has also begun to explore the potential of deep coal-rock gas. Recently, the coal-rock gas potential of a deep well in the basin Denison Trough has received attention. This paper starts with the regional coalbed methane geology of the well, mainly analyzes the potential of the deep coal-rock gas from the well's logging interpretation, gas content experiment analysis, coal rock analysis, coal seam isothermal adsorption and other results, hoping to bring some enlightenment to the exploration of the potential of the deep coal-rock gas in Australia.
