IoT Construction and Application Technology in Oilfield Production

With the development of computer technology and the continuous advancement of industrial informatization, oilfields have fully recognized the importance of informatization transformation in enhancing competitiveness. The Internet of Things (IoT) is crucial for building digital and intelligent oilfields, connecting field production with the internet for information exchange and communication, enabling data analysis, monitoring, and management of oilfield equipment, processes, and other parameters. This paper delves into the IoT in oilfield production and its application technologies. It introduces the basic concepts and current development status of IoT technology, analyzes the key technologies of IoT in oilfield production, including sensor technology, wireless communication technology, embedded systems, and embedded AI technology, and elaborates on the application effects of low-cost IoT in oilfield production. Real-time online monitoring of wells, metering stations, and production stations allows for timely grasp of production status and statistical display of main production business information, effectively improving production efficiency, reducing labor intensity, enhancing visualization, enabling statistics and penetration, promptly detecting abnormal wells and parameters, significantly improving safety and environmental control capabilities, and yielding remarkable cost reduction and efficiency enhancement effects. It provides a useful reference for the construction and development of low-cost IoT in oilfield production.
