Development and Application of an Oilfield High-Risk Operation Training System Based on Information Technology

High-risk operations in oilfield production, such as hot work, confined space entry, and crane lifting operations, are characterized by complex equipment structures, abstract theoretical knowledge, and difficulty in reproducing fault phenomena. Traditional classroom teaching methods are limited in their effectiveness for vocational education and training. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a practical training platform with realistic operational simulations to improve trainees’ operational skills and safety awareness, and reduce the incidence of accidents in oilfield operations. This paper proposes an oilfield high-risk operation training system based on information technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), 3D simulation, and artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to provide a more efficient, safer, and operable training tool for oilfield high-risk operations [1, 2]. The system creates immersive work environments using virtual reality technology, enabling trainees to simulate operations such as hot work, confined space entry, and crane lifting in realistic virtual settings. Augmented reality technology provides real-time work process demonstrations and safety tips during actual operations. 3D simulation technology reconstructs complex equipment structures and operational environments, helping trainees better understand theoretical knowledge and engage in hands-on practice. Artificial intelligence analyzes trainees’ operational data in real time, providing personalized feedback and improvement suggestions to maximize training effectiveness. The application of this system not only enhances oilfield workers’ practical operational capabilities but also strengthens their safety awareness and emergency response skills. Through this system, oilfields can conduct high-risk operation training at low cost and high efficiency, improving safety management levels and reducing accident rates, with broad market potential and economic benefits.
