A Review of De-icing and Snow-Melting Technology for High-Speed Train Bogies

When a train operates in frigid regions, the accumulation of snow and ice on the bogie poses significant threats to transportation safety and efficiency. This paper commences with an in-depth exploration of the underlying principles of train bogie icing and the associated risks it entails. It then comprehensively reviews the frequently-employed snow-melting and de-icing techniques for bogies, highlighting their respective features. Subsequently, it elaborates on the progress achieved in researching the laws of snowflake movement and the patterns of snow and ice accumulation around the bogie. Nevertheless, numerous challenges remain unresolved within the existing research methodologies. In the end, it presents forward-looking suggestions for future research on train bogies, aiming to chart a course for scientific research and development in the coming days.
