Construction Design of a Membrane-Formed Concrete Retaining Wall

In numerous landscape engineering endeavors, constructing curved retaining walls with concrete typically necessitates intricate finishing processes and incurs additional costs to achieve desired aesthetic outcomes. Traditional fair-faced concrete walls, while functional, often lack visual interest, presenting a uniform and monotonous appearance. This study seeks to innovate by exploring the potential of membrane materials as formwork, which can integrate construction effects and techniques to create concrete walls with more details without the need for supplementary decorative efforts. By conducting a construction simulation of one unit, this paper aims to offer practical construction references, verify the aesthetic effects for real-world applications, and discuss the implications for Construction-driven design approach.
