Fostering Equity in Education: Strategies to Bridge the Digital Divide
摘要
The digital divide remains one of the most critical challenges facing education today, disproportionately affecting students from underprivileged backgrounds by limiting their access to the very tools that define modern learning. This chapter presents evidence-based, technology-driven strategies to bridge this gap and promote educational equity. Drawing from successful initiatives such as government-tech partnerships, community-led digital literacy programs, and infrastructure development projects, the discussion focuses on scalable and inclusive models. Beyond simply providing devices or Wi-Fi, the chapter emphasizes the importance of building digital skills among students, teachers, and families to enable meaningful participation in digital learning ecosystems. Bridging this divide, therefore, requires a comprehensive, multi-stakeholder effort involving policymakers, educational leaders, and technology providers. The chapter concludes with actionable recommendations to transform technology from a barrier into a powerful enabler of equitable education, ensuring that no student is left behind in the digital era.
