Multicultural Education on Digital Platforms in Vietnam: A Study from Ethnic Languages and Cultures on Minorities in the Central Highlands Region
摘要
Vietnam is a multicultural country with a national education system serving 54 ethnic groups with about 100 million people. The Vietnamese ethnic community was formed by the process of convergence and migration at each separate historical period. Currently, Vietnam has eight language families with richness in different local languages. The traditional cultural life, as well as the language of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups, creates a vivid and rich picture in the process of formation and development of the country. Since 2013, the strong development of information technology has created a new scientific revolution (often called the 4.0 Scientific Revolution), strongly affecting the education of countries, including Vietnam. Along with the development in the fields of economy, culture, and society, the Vietnamese government has set a goal of strongly covering the internet network to all localities nationwide. This study was conducted in the Central Highlands, a mountainous ethnic region, the first home to the indigenous Mon-Khmer and Austronesian groups. Under the influence of many factors, the migration waves of the Mong-Dao, Thai-Kadai, Viet-Muong groups over the past decades have made the Central Highlands the most multi-ethnic region in Vietnam today. Basically, this land has two distinct cultural groups: the culture of the local residents and the culture of the new immigrant groups. In the context of the digital transformation of Vietnamese education, the Central Highlands is currently considered to have the most complex multicultural educational context.
