Data Science Competence of Lecturers in Educational Research in Vietnam
摘要
In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, data has become a core factor in decision-making, policymaking, and scientific research. In the field of education, the increasing use of student management systems, assessment systems, and high-tech survey data has provided a wealth of information for lecturers and researchers. Data analysis serves as a key tool that enables lecturers to identify trends, relationships, and the significance of variables in education, thereby publishing well-founded and reliable research findings in educational science. Therefore, developing data science competence for lecturers is an essential requirement in the current context to enhance the quality of educational research in Vietnam. This book chapter aims to analyze global data science competence frameworks and the specific context of Vietnam, thereby proposing a data science competence framework for educational research in Vietnam. The framework consists of 4 standards, 17 criteria, and 71 behavioral indicators. Using the Delphi research method, expert opinions were gathered from 36 experienced educational science researchers to refine and standardize the theoretical framework of lecturers’ data science competence in educational research.
