Wound healing is a very complicated and tightly controlled biological process that involves a variety of cellular and tissue elements. Both local and systemic factors, such as oxygenation of tissues and microbial presence, as well as immune function and metabolic state, influence this. One of the main causes of morbidity is still impaired wound healing, which puts afflicted patients through emotional and physical suffering.
