摘要

The construction industry is one of the world’s major industries and represents a significant portion of many countries’ gross domestic product (GDP). Complexities in construction industry are related to the diversity of stakeholders, multidisciplinary nature of projects, variability of site conditions, dependence on fluctuating material and labor markets, and need to comply with evolving regulations and sustainability requirements. Technologies supported by artificial intelligence (AI) are redefining the landscape of project management and construction processes. These technologies include machine learning, robotics, and advanced data analytics. The current paper presents an exploratory study to assess the status and willingness of construction industry current and future stakeholders to the inclusion of AI technologies in construction within a study area in Saudi Arabia. Authors administered a survey targeting different stakeholders to gauge the current knowledge, willingness, and challenges of AI adoption in construction industry in Saudi Arabia. Results show the willingness of stakeholders of AI integration in construction, challenges they perceive, and the need for targeted training programs.
