Improving Crop Quality and Yield by AI with Nanotechnological Approaches

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and nanotechnology in agriculture is revolutionizing traditional farming by enhancing precision, efficiency, and sustainability. AI technologies are increasingly used for soil monitoring, crop cultivation, pest control, farm optimization, and using real-time environmental data and advanced weather forecasting models to select the best seed types and determine optimal planting times. Simultaneously, nanotechnology offers innovative solutions, such as the targeted delivery of fertilizers and pesticides through nanoparticles (NPs), which enhance nutrient absorption and reduce resource waste. However, the integration of AI and nanotechnology enables smarter applications, including intelligent machinery for precise seed spacing, depth control, continuous crop monitoring, and early disease detection. This chapter explores how AI and nanotechnology together enhance crop productivity, reduce environmental impact, and promote sustainable practices, leading to significant progress in food and biofuel production.
