Tactical Care for Eye Injuries
摘要
Eye injuries in tactical combat settings present a serious challenge, jeopardizing both mission success and long-term vision health. Exposure to projectiles, blasts, chemical agents, and environmental hazards makes ocular trauma a frequent and often serious event on the battlefield. Rapid assessment and structured management are crucial to preserving vision and minimizing mission disruption. This chapter outlines the approach to combat eye injuries, incorporating a systematic framework for field examination, classification of ocular injuries, and immediate management principles. Emphasis is placed on early identification of vision-threatening injuries, the critical role of eye protection strategies, and the necessity for rapid specialist referral. Adopting these tactical protocols ensures improved survival of vision and operational performance, even in austere conditions.
