Research on the Characteristics of High-Current Vacuum Arcs with Large- Size Electrodes
摘要
The high-current vacuum arc characteristics of large-size electrodes with 100 mm diameter were investigated through arcing tests at a peak current of 100 kA. A distinctive phenomenon was observed where one or more bright constricted spots appeared within the diffuse arc column on the large longitudinal magnetic contacts. Then, the arc evolution processes were systematically analyzed under the long arcing time, with particular focus on the dynamic behavior and transformation of these constricted spots. Finally, by changing the arc initiation time, the influence of arcing time on arc mode, number of constriction points, and their duration were revealed.
