Performance and Repair Effect Verification of Two-Component Vinyl Cable Buffer Layer Ablation Defect Repair Fluid

In recent years, statistical data in China indicates that cable buffer layer faults have accounted for over 80% of the total cable insulation faults. Such faults are characterized by a long latent period, severe consequences, and a lack of effective detection means, thus making their detection methods and repair technologies a research hotspot in the field of power cables. This paper designs a two-component vinyl repair fluid for ablation defects in buffer layers. It experimentally analyzes the influence of conductive carbon black content on the performance and curing effect of the repair fluid. Finally, buffer layer samples with white spot defects are prepared through simulated ablation experiments, and the repair fluid is used to repair and verify the ablation defects of the buffer layers. The test results show that the repair fluid has targeted repair ability for buffer layer ablation defects: the volume resistivity of the defective buffer layer decreases by 98%, and the performance of the cable buffer layer after repair is close to the normal level. This provides a new solution for the repair technology of cable buffer layer ablation faults.
