Enhancing Students’ Global Competence Through Overseas Research Presentations

After two decades of dedicated effort, the Institute of Educational Administration and Policy Development at National Chiayi University (NCYU) has successfully enabled nearly all of its students to present papers abroad in recent years. This study employed a questionnaire survey to identify the aspects that students who had presented papers abroad considered most beneficial for enhancing their global competence. Semi-structured interviews were subsequently conducted to further analyze the reasons behind these perceived improvements. The study also examined the most important support mechanisms for students presenting papers abroad, as well as the greatest obstacles they encountered, and proposed solutions to address these challenges.
