Lean Management Contribution Toward Achieving the Goals of Sustainable Manufacturing
摘要
This paper investigates the operational inefficiencies in an aluminum extrusion factory and proposes tailored solutions to enhance production efficiency by implementing lean management. By employing lean manufacturing principles, the project addresses key issues such as material handling delays, high defect rates, and inadequate quality assurance measures. The study encompasses a thorough analysis of the factory’s current state, focusing on plant layout, quality control, and workplace organization. Proposed solutions include optimizing plant layout to reduce bottlenecks, implementing 5S and visual control methods to streamline operations, and integrating advanced sensor technologies for real-time quality monitoring. Results indicate that these improvements can significantly enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and foster a safer and more productive working environment. This project contributes to the broader goals of sustainable manufacturing and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, showcasing the potential for transformative advancements in the aluminum extrusion industry.
